• Arrive ten minutes before your interview.
• Know the names and positions of the people you are meeting
• Good grooming is essential and its importance cannot be overlooked.
• Too much make-up, aftershave, etc. can be off-putting
• Wear appropriate attire which should be well pressed
• Shoes are often overlooked by candidates but play an important role in your overall appearance.
• Eat before your interview as you will rely on this to help you think better.
• Don’t say anything negative about present or previous employers.
• Don’t interrupt anyone.
• Keep answers short and to the point. Remember the interviewer has a list of questions to ask and cannot assess you fully unless all questions have been answered.

Remember 85% of the verbal content of the interview will be forgotten within an hour of the candidate’s departure. What remains is the overall impression, documents submitted, and a few notes.
