Our Client

Our client is a highly successful construction Group with operations throughout Africa.  They currently require a Financial Controller for a start up operation in Western Africa.

Financial Controller- Western Africa

• Establish a new subsidiary- including company registration, taxation registration, supplier contact, set up bank accounts etc.
• Establish accounting system, financial reporting and internal controls
• Supervision and development of the finance team
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory reporting
• Main point of contact for annual audit
• Preparation of annual budget and forcast
• Monthly analysis of actual versus budget
• Materials management and electronic data processing
• Payment in foreign & local currencies and interaction with local & expatriate personnel.
• Ad hoc duties & projects

 

Ideal candidate

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
• Previous experience in Western Africa
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
• Ability to lead and closely supervise a finance team
• Strong leadership and communication skills. 
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a strong ex-patriot team.
• Self motivated with a willingness to travel and proactively adopt new cultures and customs.

 

Remuneration

Competitive tax efficient salary with a range of benefits including flights, accommodation and meals.  The role is based on 11 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation
