Gerson Lehrman Group to establish new operations hub in Dublin

Plans to create 50 new jobs by 2011

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan TD today (Thursday 22nd January 2009) announced that Gerson Lehrman Group has established a European office in Dublin.  Gerson Lehrman Group (Ireland) Limited plans to create 50 new jobs by 2011, with almost half being employed within the next twelve months.

Gerson Lehrman Group is the world’s marketplace for expertise. Through this marketplace, experts known as Gerson Lehrman Group Councils MembersSM., deliver expertise and decision-making assistance to business, government, and investment leaders around the world.

Recruitment has already commenced for third-level graduates for positions that include C#/ASP/.Net software engineers and quality assurance engineers, product managers and professionals to help build, manage and deploy experts from the Gerson Lehrman Group CouncilsSM. 

IDA Ireland worked strenuously to influence Gerson Lehrman Group’s decision to select Ireland as the preferred location for this investment while the company was undertaking an extensive due diligence of a number of European locations.  IDA is now assisting Gerson Lehrman Group Ireland with the start-up of the new facility.

The Tánaiste, welcoming Gerson Lehrman Group to Ireland, said: “This highly sophisticated operation is perfectly in line with the Government’s continuing efforts to position Ireland as the leading European location-of-choice for innovation-led and knowledge-based global investments. It is a further demonstration that Ireland today successfully competes for the highest level of global foreign direct investments across all areas of business activity.”

Gerson Lehrman Group’s network of expert consultants includes physicians, scientists, engineers, business executives, attorneys, and other professionals.  The Gerson Lehrman Group Councils consist of more than 200,000 subject matter experts who educate and provide insight to decision-makers worldwide.

Gerson Lehrman Group has invested in one of the world’s most sophisticated infrastructures for expert recruiting and compliance.  Clients regularly consult Gerson Lehrman Group Council Members through telephone consultations, face-to-face meetings, expert surveys and seminars.

Gerson Lehrman Group Ireland’s activities will include sales and client service, software development, including next-generation technology platform and research software.  The Gerson Lehrman Group Ireland team will also be recruiting new European members for the Gerson Lehrman Group Councils; supporting and developing the global IT, legal, finance, accounting, sales and marketing operations; and coordinating with the relevant New York and London based teams.
